Over 20 of our Barracks Row restaurants will serve appetizer sized samples of their best-known or newest dishes. Watch over the coming weeks as we announce the participants in the 2018 Taste of 8th!

Each Taste is a small sample size, similar to a tapas portion. Most people purchase a pack of 5 tasting tickets so they can sample their favorite 8th Street restaurants.

Buy now and get 5 tasting tickets for $20. Day-of tickets will be $25 for 5 tasting tickets.

Last year for the first time ever Santa's Capitol Hill visit was held INDOORS. Santa arrived by Uber (since snow is so scarce) and spent all afternoon reviewing Letters to Santa and visiting with kids who were ready to tell him just exactly they wanted for Christmas.

This year Santa will be back again at Taoti
Creative, 530 8th St, SE. Plus, we'll be introducing someone new, Ted.  The 6' tall Teddy Bear, from Ted's Bulletin will be with us, joining the Minion and our crazy Giant Penguin at the door.

What to wear? Well if you're going to the movies first, then wear your pajamas! The 11AM show at Miracle Theater is a pajama movie - Polar Express. Afterwards visit Santa at Taoti Creative where our Barracks Row toy train (another Polar Express) will wind it's way among the computer desks and Santa Letter Writing Stations.

Watch out for Capitol Hill Chorale- there, up on Taoti's roof- caroling! And, that

awesome face painter, Ms Patricia, from Fall Festival, is BACK.  She'll be with us from 1:00- 4PM available to make you into the holiday character of your dreams! Sugar Plum Fairy? Scrooge?  A Purple Tiger ? No problem!

Santa Arrives on 8th Street is a Toys for Tots event- and it's free- just bring along a new, unwrapped toy and join the fun!
