Barracks Row Annual Meeting Celebration

The 2011 Barracks Row Annual Meeting Celebration will be held in just one week on Wednesday, March 14, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Lavagna, 539 8th Street, SE. This is the one day per year we look back on our successes from the year before while mixing and mingling with friends and neighbors.

2011 was our 12th year as a Main Street. In 1999 we were given a charter by the National Trust for Mayor Gray Speaking On Barracks RowHistoric Preservation. Each year since then we have hosted events like Taste of Eighth, our annual restaurant tasting, Barracks Row Fall Festival and the arrival of Santa to his Barracks Row Work Shop at 8th and G Street SE.

During 2011 we beautified the corridor with thousands of bulbs planted by teams of volunteers and we paid for 3 days a week of Clean and Safe services (the Capitol Hill BID pays for the other 4 days).  Behind the scenes we managed facade grants to maintain and improve buildings in our Main Street boundaries. We also conduct ongoing outreach to federal and district governments on issues of interest to our business, building owners and our neighbors. Above is Mayor Gray on Barracks Row declaring August 2011 "Sidewalk Cafe Month" in the District.

Come celebrate another great year with us! Give us a call at the office 202-544-3188 with questions. See you on the 14th!
